Information About New Syllabus & Experience Teaching

The new changes to GCSE & A Level Mathematics has unfortunately resulted in a cohort of students who are often confused and frustrated by the syllabus. Schools are often not up to the challenge, as illustrated by widespread under-performance in the subject. The new syllabus is very challenging, at GCSE level they are now expecting familiarity with A Level concepts, and similarly at A Levels, there is now an expectation of undergraduate level understanding. This has directly resulted in an influx of cheap, ineffective tutors, who at best represent poor value for money, but at worst may confuse your child even further. Many of these tutors themselves did not get the highest grades for GCSE & A Level Mathematics but are trying to get other people’s children to this level. Many parents are regrettably attracted to cheap tutors or university students who do not have the experience and track record to tutor properly and therefore are unable to provide results.

I was able to get 100 percent for my core 2 exam and A* for both my GCSE & A Level Mathematics. I am familiar with all the differences between the old and new specifications, and have identified specific areas that I can see will represent common pitfalls, or areas of confusion for students. I was able to gather this knowledge through my extensive experience as a GCSE and A Level Mathematics tutor, both freelance, and as the head of the mathematics department at Excel tutors. Additionally I think it is important to admit that I found A Level Mathematics difficult and thus understand how to approach the content when trying to aim for 100 percent or A*.

I have worked with many students who started with E/U grades and later achieved A/A* for A Level Mathematics. My aims are that every student I teach can try to achieve A* or grade 9! A good mathematics teacher can make anything look simple and easy to understand. I am the correct tutor for quick results but can also change my style of teaching to a more conceptual manner for students eager to understand mathematics. I vary my teaching depending on each student and make sure that I have a plan for them on how we will cover the content in the allocated time of the sessions. I am a very detail orientated person, who enjoys using my free time to analyse past exam papers and to formulate my own questions. You can see via my reviews my feedback from students, the impact of my teaching is clear and many wish they had “known about me earlier”. I am DBS certified and have been teaching for over 4 years in colleges and tuition centres around London.

I genuinely feel you will not find a better GCSE or A Level Mathematics tutor, who embodies as much enthusiasm for the subject coupled with many years of experience teaching. I was also able tutor my niece who was 10 years of age when she completed her Mathematics GCSE exam with a grade 9 in 2019.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDvwvOfKTlM this is the youtube video if you are interested. I am willing to negotiate my price for longer sessions. Let me know you are interested and what you are willing to pay. I will get back to you after considering your location and the level of mathematics required. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my profile.

Many Thanks,

Sayed.
